Eligibility: {VR} Vocational Rehabilitation Services require that an individual {1} has a significant physical or mental disability which interferes with their ability to work; {2} has a need for vocational rehabilitation services; {3} has a desire for and capability of becoming gainfully employed. Home Services require that an individual {1} has a disability which interferes with their living independently; {2}be under 60 years of age and meet financial need guidelines {3} and be at imminent risk of nursing home or other residential placement.
Area Served: VR Services are provided for McDonough County residents and WIU students. Home services cover only McDonough County at this time.
Services Provided: Vocational Rehabilitation {VR Services} are provided to assist disabled individuals to obtain or maintain employment. Services may include : vocational & career planning, counseling & guidance, information & referral, work related medical and mental health restoration, job development and placement, academic & vocational training for employment, assistance with job seeking, job maintenance, & work accommodations, and supported employment services.
High School VR Services are provided to help disabled high school students prepare for meaningful employment, independent living and full community participation. Services include transition planning assistance and the STEP work experience program.
Home Services are provided to enable disabled individuals who are at risk of needing residential placement to remain living at home. Services may include: personal assistant, homemaker services, nursing care, and physician prescribed therapy, electronic home response, delivered meals, adult day care, assistive equipment, and environmental modification and respite services.
