Mosaic

Mosaic is a non-profit organization and is the result of a merger between two renowned Lutheran Agency’s, Bethphage and Martin Luther Homes. Mosaic currently serves more that 3,500 people with disabilities through agencies in 14 states and Great Britain. Mosaic began providing services in the Macomb area in 1983. Though still grounded in our Lutheran roots, Mosaic provides non-denominational services to its residents. One thing that makes Mosaic unique is that spiritual nurture is still an important part of our services and we strive to meet the religious needs of the people we support. We do this by providing in-home devotions and assisting residents in attending the church of their choice. We also make available a service once a month that we call a Kingdom party. It has a laid back atmosphere with music, a short lesson, prayer and snacks.

Mosaics services encourage people with disabilities to become active members of the community and to live as independently as possible in environments where they are safe, valued and respected. Our emphasis has always been that the people we serve receive the quality care, support and compassion that they deserve.

Residential Services:

Adults with developmental disabilities reside in quality home settings. Programming is geared to assist people in becoming more independent in home management, community mobility, transportation, recreation and leisure activities. Services consider every person capable of growth, development and learning when given appropriate opportunities. Mosaic currently has 13 homes in Macomb and Bushnell. Three of these residences are 4-plex housing units. Each of these homes has four separate two bedroom apartments connected by a centralized great room. Each apartment has two separate bedrooms, its own bath, living room, kitchen and appliances. These homes are ideal for promoting independence.

Day Services:

Are tailored to a variety of activities adapted to each person's needs, wants and interests. Within the day service setting there are four programs established for individuals: Supported Employment Program, Developmental Training Program, the regular work program, and an At-Home-Day Program to provide recreational and leisure services for individuals who are of retirement age or prefer a smaller group setting. At the front of our Day Program building is our consignment store called Beth & Friends. This shop provides valuable work and training opportunities. Individuals learn a wide variety of basic job skills including: cleaning, tagging and selling items, waiting on customers and answering the phone. A portion of the store’s inventory is hand-made by people in support. Other services available at the Day program are: laundry service, paper shredding and furniture refinishing.
