Bridgeway Inc.

Bridgeway is a not-for-profit human services organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. We area located in west central Illinois and southeast Iowa. Services provided include: behavioral counseling, vocational training, substance abuse, family service, community employment, services to developmentally disabled individuals, and community living.

Bridgeway staff works to provide creative solutions for everyone, by providing services that fit YOU!!

Our Philosophy: Our primary focus is on the needs and desires of the individual; the development of innovative ways to achieve consumer goals. We believe that the removal of barriers that hinder access to services can be removed by better communication and services linkage. We want to continuously enhance the quality of our services and individual's lives.

BTS is short for Bridgeway Training Services. BTS offers job opportunities as well as provides services to our communities such as data entry, recycling, janitorial services and metal fabrication.

Bridgeway Day Program Services: provide life skills training in vocational, communication, personal needs and social environments. We offer goals and programming that are geared to the heart of what is problematic for an individual, and what will hinder them from achieving greater independence and happiness. Our schedule changes every 4 months and is filled with fun activities in the community as well as groups that have been identified as needs. The consumer sits with the case manager and decides what classes, groups and work times are preferred. Our community activities include bowling, swimming, library, fishing, farmers market, concert in the park, community volunteering, eating out and gym group, to name a few. In house groups cover a wide variety of needs and preferences, including anger management, computer skills, art, social skills, human sexuality, exercise, cooking, and hobby group. Case management is a part of services and linkages to other agencies as needed. We assist individuals with personal care needs, emotional growth and independence. Individuals feel empowered to want more for their lives, and that is the goal. Our vocational training sites operate as real jobs, but with a learning component, so that if community employment is something the consumer wants, we are working in concert. These training sites are varied, and allow an individual to learn new skills while earning a paycheck.
